Kenyon were appointed to undertake the restoration of the carillon, both internally and externally, to restore and retune the bells within the tower. The tower is a prominent feature of Old Bond Street and is of historic and cultural significance. The restoration helps to preserve this and ensure the continuation the long tradition of weekly performances from the bells. The tower received a full retune and refurbishment of all 23 bells and frame along with all internal components. The external tower was cleaned, redecorated and fully restored to its original specification
Atkinson’s Building was built in 1832 and the Carillon was built several years later in 1924. One of only 15 in the UK and the only carillon in London. The Carillon consists of 23 bells and is still played by hand.
