Kenyon was contracted by D E and J Levy to carry out extensive cyclical decorations, restoration and repair to these prestigious apartments in Putney.
Many of the old windows were replaced with new, double glazed units that matched the existing features. Extensive repairs were undertaken to the remaining windows using specialist seasoned oak.
The buildings required extensive masonry repair to return their facades to their former condition. Facing brickwork was re-pointed and HeliBars were installed to ensure additional strength and stability.
Kenyon’s flexible and considerate approach ensured that accurate and up to date work planning information was always speedily communicated to residents. The work itself was co-ordinated in such a way as to minimise disruption. An example of effective liaison involved the need to take over the existing car parks in order to accommodate large deliveries. Programmes were agreed with residents to facilitate this process. The suggestion that grassed areas could be protected and then used to provide temporary resident parking facilities gratefully taken up.
Client budget restraints prevented the project from being completed in a single phase. Kenyon was happy to work with the management committee so that agreement was reached that the project would be completed in multiple phases.
