These prestigious offices, previously occupied by Manchester City Football Club, received extensive refurbishment. Because of urgent commercial imperatives, the timescales on the project were critical. A testing contract period was set which Kenyon is proud to report it bettered significantly.
Decorative plaster mouldings and other period features had been damaged during previous modifications. Kenyon successfully restored all of these features to their original condition.
Suspended ceilings with plaster bulkhead details to match the original plasterwork were installed. Columns were encased with plasterboard and similarly finished. A complete new electrical installation was undertaken including routing and multiple access points for power and data. Bespoke secondary glazing was fitted to all external windows. Carpeting was replaced with a new luxury product throughout, and bespoke joinery, including fire doors, was installed.
Suspended ceilings with plasterboard margins were also provided to the common lift landings where new ceramic floors were laid. These works were carried out while all the surrounding offices remained occupied. Kenyon worked closely with the building’s owner to ensure minimal disruption to other occupants. Occasionally this required night time and weekend working. This flexible approach ensured that the project was completed ahead of time and to the complete satisfaction of the client and of the building’s other occupiers.
